SPORTS
For more than a century, Thanksgiving has carried two trademarks: a full plate and a football game. The tradition began in 1920, paused during World War II, returned in 1945, and continued through the AFL and NFL merger in 1966, becoming a fixture of the American sports calendar. Since then, Detroit and Dallas have served as the holiday pillars, hosting every year and delivering some of the league’s most memorable moments. The Lions always kick off the early game, the Cowboys follow in the afternoon, and since 2006, the NFL has added a primetime matchup to round out the slate. This year, the Packers grabbed temporary control of the NFC North with a win over the Lions, the Cowboys extended their Thanksgiving streak to four straight victories after beating the Chiefs, and the Bengals kept their playoff push alive by taking down the Ravens. Another great Thanksgiving of food, family, and football.

ART AND FASHION
The race for the “signature garment of 2025” is almost decided, and the front-runner is not Louis Vuitton, Gucci, or Dior. The unexpected leader is the Marty Supreme track jacket. If you missed the rise of this piece over the past few months, here is the story. In promotion for his new film Marty Supreme, Timothée Chalamet has been wearing a simple jacket displaying the movie’s title and three stars across the chest. What started as understated merch has exploded into a cultural moment, drawing massive attention to the film. And it is not only Chalamet fueling the hype. Tom Brady, Travis Scott, Bill Nye, and even the elusive Frank Ocean have been photographed in the jacket, turning it into a viral fashion staple. With this much momentum, the Marty Supreme name is everywhere. You can bet we will be there on opening weekend to watch the movie take over.

Vince Staples has returned with season two of his Netflix series, The Vince Staples Show, picking up right where the acclaimed first season left off. The Californian rapper continues to bring viewers into the unpredictable rhythm of Long Beach life, blending humor, tension, and surreal moments in a way only he can. As a quick follow-up to last week’s T(abel) Reads, Childish Gambino closed out an electric Camp Flog Gnaw performance that shocked fans with an 18-song setlist. He also delivered an emotional monologue about where he has been. The multi-talented artist revealed he suffered a stroke and discovered a hole in his heart, forcing him to cancel the rest of his world tour. After two surgeries, he is recovering well, though he offered no hint about resuming the tour. It was a rare moment of transparency, and fans are still processing the weight of his announcement.

DOMESTIC
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade began in 1924 as a festive march organized by Macy’s employees, featuring costumes, floats, and animals from the Central Park Zoo. By 1929, the event introduced its now-famous giant helium balloons, which quickly became the parade’s signature attraction. Over the decades, the route changed and production grew, but the parade remained a defining New York City tradition, blending pop culture, music, and holiday excitement. In its 99th edition on November 27, 2025, the parade delivered one of its most energetic lineups yet. New balloons like Buzz Lightyear and PAC-MAN made their debut alongside returning favorites such as Sonic and Snoopy. A Shrek-themed float drew huge cheers, and Cynthia Erivo opened the morning with a powerful live performance. Crowds packed the streets despite cold winds, celebrating a holiday ritual that continues to evolve while maintaining the timeless spirit that has defined it for more than a century.
